Our Mission - Why we exist

To be a HAVEN – a shelter, a place of safety – representing the Great Haven, Jesus
Christ, who bids all who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him, with the sure
promise that he will give them rest (See Matthew 11:28-30).

Our Vision - How, by God’s grace, we plan to accomplish our mission:

1. In Our Ministry:

By serving with all biblically faithful Christian churches in making disciples from people of all nations.

  • Confessing that all authority in heaven and on earth is given to the Lord Jesus Christ, who was raised from the dead, and now reigns from heaven as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
  • Using the means of grace to make disciples from people of all nations:
  • Preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God given in Holy Scripture as it shows us the unfathomable riches of Jesus Christ
  • Administration of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper as signs and seals of the Gospel.
  • Fellowship of the saints that both displays and encourages our fellowship with Christ.
  • Prayer that God will make these means effective for converting the lost and for building up God’s people in faith and comfort unto salvation. (See Acts 2:42)
  • Believing the promise that the Lord Jesus (by the Holy Spirit) will be with us always, (even) to the end of the age. (See Matthew 28:18-20)

2. In Our Life In and Through Our Members:
By living as faithful disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our:

  • Worship: Personal, in our families, and in our gatherings together, all flowing from our lives as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is our spiritual worship. (See Romans 12:1,2)
  • Community: As a church – a family of God’s people and an outpost of heaven - and reaching out to our communities with the grace of God in Jesus Christ. (See I Peter 2:1-10)
  • Callings: In our various callings in life, and in our service in the Kingdom of God. (See Ephesians 4:1-16)
  • Character: To be a people of holiness and love, living as points of light in a world that is always in need of Christ, the light of the world. (Philippians 2:12-18)
